Truck washing areas shall be equipped with trench drains to collect waste water. <br />D.2. Potentially Significant Impact: Deqradation or impairment of ground water resources may result <br />from contamination entering the ground water system over the life of the project as a result of the <br />lack or failure of impervious surfaces and liners in working areas. Contamination of a public water <br />supply could occur. <br />Finding: <br />Changes or alterations have been required in, or incorporated into, the project which avoid or <br />substantially lessen the significant environmental effect as identified in the Final EIR. <br />Statement of Fact: <br />This impact will be reduced by the following: <br />Mitigation measures detailed above for mitigating surface water impacts will also provide <br />mitigation for ground water impacts. <br />Personnel working with the "load screening program° and on the "tipping floor' shall have <br />40 hours of OSHA training on spill containment, personal protective equipment, and the <br />handling of recyclable household hazardous materials. <br />An approved hazardous materials storage area shall be provided at the facility for storage <br />of hazardous wastes discovered as a result of load screening and processing. <br />D.3. Potentially Significant Impact: Proiect operations may result in an adverse impact to artificial water <br />carrying structures in particular the Banta-Carbona Irrigation Canal. <br />Finding: <br />Changes or alterations have been required in, or incorporated into, the project which avoid or <br />substantially lessen the significant environmental effect as identified in the Final EIR. <br />Statement of Fact: <br />This impact will be reduced by the following: <br />Erosion control measures shall be implemented as detailed above to minimize soil loss <br />and sedimentation during construction. <br />Unpaved roads and working surfaces shall be watered frequently to minimize dust. <br />
