ADDENDUM
TO
REPORT OF FACILITY INFORMATION
TRACY MATERIAL RECOVERY AND TRANSFER STATION
Tracy Material Recovery and Solid Waste Transfer Inc. , is
submitting this addendum to add an additional 12.5 acres of land
(Figure 1) to the facility. A copy of the deed to the property is
attached in Appendix A.
1. The facility will accept up to 18 cubic yards ,per week of
tomato waste at its facility at 30703 MacArthur Drive, Tracy,
CA and feed it to up to 14 head of cattle and accept up to 40
cubic yards per day of tomato mud, spread it on approximately
11 acres and allow it to dry by evaporation.
The tomato mud consists of soil and water residue from the
tomato rinsing operation. It is greater than 50 per cent
moisture content.
r Both of these operations will be. conducted during the cannery
season which runs from July through November.
Tomato Waste will be deposited on the ground in the feeding
area as indicated on the Site Plan, Figure 1 from July to
November. The waste will be eaten by the cattle within 48
hours.
Odors and vectors will be controlled by the rapid (48 hour)
turnaround of the waste.
'® ®S The tomato mud will be spread in thin layers (1 to 3 inches)
(s] to promote drying and to eliminate vector breeding. It will
k then tirred within 24 hours after spreading to promote
drying. Tis procedure will be repeated until the material is
dry. When dry, the waste will be disked into the soil.
The amended soil will be used to grow hay or clover.
L•
The site is enclosed by barbed wire and chain link fencing.
Entrance to the site is through the Tracy Material Recovery
and Transfer Facility. The gates to the site are locked each
night. Access by unauthorized personnel is not allowed.
Since the operation will be conducted only during the dry
season from July to November, there will not be a need for an
alternative site.
2. The operation will be conducted only during the months that
the cannery operates, July to November.
Tomato waste used for cannery feed will be delivered in 18
cubic yard roll off containers, once every two to three days.
