Tomato 'mud to be used as soil amendment will be delivered in
10 cubic yard roll off containers, two to fRr mads per day
(one load every 6 to 10 hours) . Delivery could occur-_anytime
during a 24 hour day, seven days per week.
3. The site is shown in zone C on Flood Insurance Rate Map (FIRM)
Panel 720.
•
The site is protected from flooding by an earthen berm and
other improvements that were constructed in 1995 to protect
the Tracy Material Recovery and Transfer Station from the 100
year flood of Corral hollow Creek.
4. Depth to ground water is 100 to 110 feet. The water is
potable at this depth. Ground water flow is to the North.
5. The Banta Carbona Irrigation Canal borders the property to the
West. It is a concrete lined channel at an elevation
approximately 15 feet above the site.
Corral Hollow Creek is approximately 1200 feet north of the
site.
6. The site consists of an abandoned gravel quarry approximately
10 feet deep. The land was used primarily as pasture and
grassland until 1971 when gravel mining activities began. RMC
Lonestar mined the site from 1971 to 1975.
7. The following were observed during a survey of the site on
August 20, 1993:
Reptiles found at the site include western fence lizard and
gopher snake. Birds known to breed in annual grasslands near
the project site include horned lark, burrowing owl, and
western meadowlark. Raptors include turkey vulture , American
kestrel, red-tailed hawk, black-shouldered kite, and northern
harrier. Deer mice, black-tailed hares, California ground
squirrels, striped skunks, and coyotes.
8. Annual grassland at the site is an open habitat supporting
grasses and forbs with little or no woody vegetation.
Nonnative grasses such as wild oat, barley, ripgut brume, and
soft chess dominate. Typical scattered forbs are pigweed
amaranth, prickly wild lettuce, great valley gumplant, and
western sunflower.
9. The only nearby potential source of noise is the Tracy
Material Recovery and Solid Waste Transfer Station to the
North. The station is, however, located approximately 20 feet
below the site of this project. Thus noise is not a concern.
The Tracy MRF maintenance garage is adjacent to the subject
property to the north. The only noise from this facility
would be the trucks entering and leaving the garage and the
