Load Checking Program
Tracy Material Recovery&Transfer Facility
30703 S. MacArthur Drive,Tracy,CA 95377
Ignitability as defined in Title 22 CCR Section 66261.21 including all waste
with a flash point <1400 Fahrenheit.
Corrosivity as defined in Title 22 CCR Section 66261.22 including all waste
with a pH of 2 or lower or 12.5 or higher.
Reactivity as defined in Title 22 CCR Section 66261.23 including waste that
is normally unstable; reacts violently with water; forms an explosive mixture
with water; contains quantities of cyanides or sulfur that could be released to
the air; or can easily be detonated or exploded.
Toxicity as defined in Title 22 CCR Section 66261.24 including waste in
which the Toxicity Characteristic Leaching Procedure (TCLP) shows that the
regulatory levels for any constituent are exceeded.
2.3.2. Listed Waste
Listed wastes are found in Title 22 CCR Sections 66261.30 through 66261.35. Wastes
appear in the list because of their known hazardous nature or because the processes
that generate them are known to produce hazardous wastes (which are often complex
mixtures).
2.3.3. Immediate Burial Waste
Immediate burial waste requires immediate burial by the receiving landfill and therefore
cannot be comingled in transfer loads leaving the facility. These wastes may include
large animal carcasses, grit & screenings from wastewater treatment plants and
commercially generated sharp waste which has not been treated and destroyed by
shredding.
2.3.4. Biohazardous or Medical Waste
Biohazard wastes or medical from commercial medical waste generators which has not
been treated and deemed solid waste by a method approved by California Department
of Public Health are prohibited. Load Checker will look for obvious signs of prohibited
medical waste such as liquid blood in untreated blue, clear or black bags, pathological
body parts, untreated red bag waste and unshredded sharps waste. If a generator
cannot be determined, a Medical Waste Hauler will be contacted to remove the material
and transport to an approved treatment facility, and the LEA will be notified.
2.3.5. Other Prohibited Wastes
The following wastes are also prohibited at the Facility:
® Radioactive wastes.
Bulk liquid wastes which have moisture content greater than 50%.
ISI
4
