Load Checking Program <br /> Tracy Material Recovery&Transfer Facility <br /> 30703 S. MacArthur Drive,Tracy,CA 95377 <br /> 3. Public Communication/Education <br /> 3.1. Signage <br /> Signage regarding the Facility non-acceptance of PW is required to be posted at <br /> the front gate in front of the fee building. The sign shall state at a minimum that <br /> hazardous waste is prohibited at the Facility and shall list the most common <br /> types of hazardous waste. Signage shall also state that all waste loads are <br /> subject to inspection. The sign will be in both English and Spanish and may <br /> include other languages if spoken by a large majority of customers using the <br /> facility as determined by the Operations Manager. <br /> Employees performing load checks will refer customers to the sign when PW is <br /> encountered. <br /> 3.2. Printed Information <br /> Facility load check and fee collection staff will be provided with flyers to pass out <br /> to customers with information regarding avenues for the legal disposal of PW. <br /> The flyers will be made in-house or obtained from the local lead agency for HHW <br /> collection and HW management. <br /> At a minimum the flyers will include: <br /> • A list of the most common types of hazardous waste. <br /> • Current list of dates, times and locations for residential HHW collection facilities <br /> or HHW collection events or phone numbers and other contact information for the <br /> customer to obtain current information regarding HHW collection locations and <br /> events. <br /> The flyers may include: <br /> • Contact information for the local Small Quantity Generator Program <br /> • A list of companies providing hazardous waste services for businesses in the <br /> local area or a description of where to find this information. <br /> • Contact information for local and State agencies responsible for hazardous waste <br /> management oversight including local Certified Unified Program Agencies and <br /> State Department of Toxic Substances Control. <br /> The above informational flyers will be maintained in sufficient quantity at the <br /> facility and passed out to customers when PW is found in their waste loads. The <br /> above information may also be delivered in billing statements in addition to <br /> providing them directly to Facility customers. <br /> Fact Sheets regarding specific PW are another useful tool to present the <br /> customer with when returning PW.
