MacArthur Drive,Tracy,CA 95377 <br /> http://www.CaIRecycle,ca.gov/Publications/ <br /> When PW is found both in self haul loads and loads hauled by hired waste <br /> haulers, an important part of customer education takes place when the PW is <br /> rejected and the customer is held responsible for the proper disposal of their <br /> waste. For this reason, whenever feasible the load check employee will make <br /> attempts to reject the PW and let the customer know they are responsible for the <br /> proper handling and disposal of that waste. <br /> 3.3. Verbal Communication <br /> Public education can conveniently be enhanced at each location where <br /> customers speak to facility employees. Employees in the following positions will <br /> have enough training to answer basic questions regarding PW when asked or <br /> when PW is spotted. <br /> 3.3.1. Phone Personnel <br /> Receptionists and customer service representatives are often asked questions <br /> regarding waste acceptance and they should be able to give the information for proper <br /> disposal procedures. <br /> 3.3.2. Fee Collector <br /> Fee collectors are the first line of communication with customers. Fee collectors will ask <br /> the customers what they are hauling. Fee collectors shall inform the customer their PW <br /> cannot be unloaded. They will provide flyers at the fee building when this waste is <br /> encountered. Fee collectors shall inform customers where to unload Conditionally <br /> Accepted Waste (CAW) which requires special handling such as appliances, CRTs and <br /> electronic devices. Fee collectors shall inform load check personnel when prohibited <br /> waste is seen or suspected in a waste load. <br /> 3.3.3. Spotter <br /> Spotters are a good line of communication with customers. Spotters shall inform the <br /> customer that their PW cannot be unloaded and they may provide flyers to customers <br /> when this waste is encountered. Spotter shall inform load check personnel when PW is <br /> seen or suspected in a waste load. Spotter shall inform customer where to unload <br /> CAW. <br /> 3.3.4. Load Checker <br /> Employees assigned to perform load checks shall provide in depth inspections of waste <br /> loads and enforce the prohibition of PW. Load check staff will provide detailed <br /> information regarding the prohibition of PW to the customer. Load Checkers will answer <br /> questions and provide informational flyers for the legal disposal of PW. <br /> 6 <br />
