Load Checking Program <br /> Tracy Material Recovery&Transfer Facility <br /> 30703 S. MacArthur Drive,Tracy, CA 95377 <br /> • Understand their responsibilities for preventing the transfer of PW to the <br /> receiving landfill; <br /> • Understand their responsibilities for maintaining an active load check <br /> program; <br /> • Understand their responsibilities for employee health and safety as it relates <br /> to load checking and hazardous waste and UW handling and management. <br /> 4.4. Training Recordkeeping <br /> Training records required for this Program are maintained at the office of the <br /> Operations Manager and are available for review upon request. <br /> 5. Load Check Program Equipment <br /> The facility will maintain a supply of the following equipment to be used by personnel <br /> performing load checks: <br /> • Safety boots <br /> • Hard hat <br /> • High visibility vest <br /> • Chemical gloves <br /> • Eye protection (safety glasses or goggles) <br /> • Liquid-repellent aprons or coveralls <br /> • Two way radio <br /> • Traffic cones or delineators <br /> • Plastic sheeting <br /> • Three prong rake <br /> • Hand tongs <br /> In addition to the safety equipment, the following items are stored nearby for the load <br /> checking staff to use as necessary: <br /> • Spill response kits <br /> • Fire extinguishers <br /> • Emergency eye washes and shower unit <br /> • Emergency phone numbers for reporting chemical emergencies <br /> • Agency phone numbers for reporting significant spills <br /> 6. Load Checking Procedures <br /> Performing load checks with uniform procedures improves the safety for load check <br /> staff. Performing load checks the same way each time helps facility equipment <br /> operators and customers anticipate what action the load check staff will do during each <br /> inspection. The uniform use of designated load check areas, delineators and hand and <br /> voice signals helps to ensure the safety of both the load check staff and customers. <br /> The following describes the three permitted uniform load checks approved at the <br /> Facility. <br /> 9 <br />
