The farm is permitted for 300,000 birds and we will be expanding over a period up to five years
by approximately 100,000 birds per year going up to 800,000 this will replace the production
losses from our out side farms located in norther Ca, that has went out of business because of
the increase cost of Food Safety reg. and Prop. 2 . Allowing us to maintain the amount of eggs
to run thru our Process machine for our customers.
We are currently use 10 of the poultry barns for Prop. 2 Cage free egg production, one barn for
egg packing room, one for storage and the last two will be demoed. The compost barn is also
being used for a storage location at this time. All poultry barns are cleaned by using a manure
belt system. Barns 1,2,3 are cleaned out daily, barns 4a-4b cleaned 3 to 4 times per week, barns
6 ,7,10,11,12 also cleaned 3 to 4 times per week. after manure is removed from barns it is either
convey on a belt or a scrapper system into a trailer either directly from the farm or by a tractor
pulling a dump trailer to be placed on dry pad to be turned 3 to 4 times before it is also loaded
into trucks to be hauled of to other farms for use on Ag land.all the manure is being hauled of
site by Bruce Mellor trucking.
For every 100,000 birds approximately 12 ton of manure is produced per day. When the farm is
completed at 800,000 birds a total of 96 tons of manure per day would be produced with
approximately 20 %to 80% moisture when it comes out of the barns . Approximately 60 hens
will die per day for every 100,000 birds housed and will be incinerated on site. This mortality is
removed from the barns daily and put into a propane fired incinerator that is approved by the air
board as a way to handle mortality. for stage one of the building project we would build a totally
inclosed compost building to handle both the manure form 400,000 birds and we would also be
allowed to compost the mortality. Even tho the prevailing winds blow away from the homes
located to the west of the farm This would greatly reduce the odors from the farm manure as it is
turned to dry and when incinerators are turned on.
All of the new poultry equipment that we have placed into the barns are the most advanced
both for the birds and for manure and water handling. They are equipped with the latest in
ventilation systems, manure belts for easy removal from the barn and nipple drinkers for both
water savings and reducing moisture in the poultry manurer and bird health. All poultry feed is
stored in tanks and is made up of mostly corn and soy. If any feed is spilled it is picked up and
place in garbage containers. New Tec Pest Control is the company we use to control any fly or
rodent issues that might come up using fly jars, fly bait, tin cats and bait boxes. the garbage is
hauled off in 40 yard containers by Gilton one to two time a week or as needed.
