Manure Management Plan Page 2 of 4
Carter Road Egg Farm 1993
II. Wet Manure Management Practices - Conventional Houses 1, 2, 6. 7.
13.14.*15 & *16(*Bottom Layers Only)
The following manure management plan will be used for the 180,000 layers.
1 . During the months when fields are dry and the manure must
be removed from the poultry houses 2-3 times a week.
Conventional methods of "thin-spread" manure drying will be used
in periods of seven (7) days only. Wet manure will be loaded into a
manure spreader and spread thin on approximately 640 acres of farming
property as needed for fertilizer and disked within 24 hours.
2. During inclement weather, manure will be moved and spread in Buildings
#9,10,11, and 12, manure will be biological remediated as stated
basically in the Environmental Houses #17, 18 & 19 (Refer to Section 1).
Manure will be removed from the designated buildings as weather
permits. Dry manure from these houses will be used on contracted
farmer's property as needed. (Refer to Section II, #1).
3. In dry months, manure will be thin-spread on the eight (8) acres East
of Building 6 & 7. Manure will be removed every seven (7) days to Mr.
Martin properties. No manure drying of any type will be allowed on the
vacant area east of Mr. Swanson's Ostrich Farm.
4. Ponds #A, B, & C will not be used for manure disposal until prior
approval from *C.R.W.Q.C.B. and P.H.S.-E.H.D. Storm water will drain
to the natural lay of the land, as it has for many years to the S/W corner
of the property.
FUTURE PLANS OF BILL HUANG EGG FARM
A. Mr. Huang and Mr. Martin are looking at a pipeline, in the near
future, equipped with a pump to direct liquid manure to his
irrigating system for his farmland.
B. Additional new high-rise houses is another possibility that would
eliminate the conventional chicken manure practices of wet
manure.
