ERIC <br /> D. HORTON <br /> Solid Waste Coordinator <br /> Mr.Horton's primary responsibilities as Environmental Compliance Officer for Forward, <br /> Inc. Landfill are to provide environmental oversight of the facility. Mr. Horton manages the <br /> bioremediation pads; aeration; sludge drying operations; leachate management program; storm <br /> water management; air sampling and the alternative daily cover program. <br /> Additionally he is charged with the inspections for the general condition of the facility, <br /> g <br /> monitoring wells, asbestos bin pad; leachate risers, leachate evaporation pond, wood stockpiles <br /> and the wood grinding operation. Inspections for erosion, rodents, the fence lines, slopes, berms <br /> and banks as well as fire suppression equipment fall under his authority. <br /> Mr. Horton ensures that the contaminated soil stockpiles are covered, staked and not <br /> standing in water. Sampling of the soil is done when aeration or biotreatment is performed. <br /> Administrative responsibilities include support to the sales department. When necessary, <br /> reviewing waste treatment and disposal applications,,granting acceptance or issuing denial for <br /> wastes and monitoring the acceptance and direction of wastes through the proper channels. <br /> Supplementary assignments include ongoing research and/or projects covering areas such <br /> as sludge, composting and alternative daily cover.
