Aerated Static Pile/Windrow <br /> This alternative utilizes a combination of two separate composting technologies, aerated <br /> static piles and compost windrows using a windrow turning machine. The combined maxi- <br /> mum daily load capacity for both composting facilities is 1,000 TPD. <br /> The maximum daily load capacity of the aerated static pile compost facility is 300 TPD. <br /> This capacity is based on the following assumptions: <br /> • Five-day per week operations <br /> • Approximately 5 acres for composting piles <br /> Extended aeration aerated static pile with individual compost cells 15 feet <br /> wide at the base and 75 feet long <br /> • Base depth 1-foot deep <br /> • Blanket cover 1-foot deep <br /> • Overall pile height is 8 feet <br /> • Composting period is projected to be 4 to 12 weeks depending on product <br /> desired <br /> • Aeration fan is 400 cfm per compost cell <br /> • Biofilter sized for 3 cfm/ft2 <br /> • 40 percent volume reduction after composting <br /> The maximum daily load capacity of the Windrow compost facility is 700 TPD.
