3-2 <br /> Employees are provided with safety vests, hard hats, hearing protection, safety glasses, dust <br /> masks and respirators, as appropriate for personal safety in their particular job function. <br /> Personnel are also required to wear safety shoes and gloves, depending on their job <br /> function. No employee is permitted to operate potentially dangerous equipment or engage <br /> in potentially dangerous activities without appropriate training. <br /> Forward also implements an emergency response training. All site employees are trained in <br /> (1) emergency notification (on-site employees and off-site emergency response [i.e., 911], <br /> and (2) location and content of the emergency response plan. Employees receive a copy of <br /> the emergency response plan when they are hired. <br /> Spill prevention, reporting, and cleanup training are integrated into the landfill's monthly and <br /> weekly safety/training meetings. Site employees are made aware of the most common <br /> source of surface spills, and how to help prevent those occurrences. The importance of <br /> reporting significant hazardous or nonhazardous liquid spills is covered. Storm water <br /> awareness and the importance of keeping storm water clean is integrated into regular staff <br /> meetings. <br /> The load checking program is explained in detail to all site personnel who are involved with <br /> the inspection of waste, including the transfer station and compost facility workers, and <br /> equipment operators. These employees also attend a 24-hour hazardous waste operations <br /> and safety course and an annual refresher course. The course emphasizes familiarity with <br /> containers and labels typically used for hazardous waste and other materials. All new <br /> employees are enrolled in the course at the earliest available class after they are hired. <br /> Specific emergency response and evacuation procedures for all Forward Inc. employees and <br /> members of the emergency response team are covered in the training sessions conducted <br /> ® at the site throughout the year. <br /> Records of all training will be maintained on-site as discussed in Section 7.8. <br /> 3.2.3 Supervision <br /> Level of Supervision <br /> The Compost Facility will be supervised by the Operations Manager, who is onsite at least 40 <br /> hours per week during business hours. <br /> Emergency Contact List <br /> The location, mailing address, and pertinent telephone numbers of the landfill and <br /> RRF/Compost Facility and the company office are listed below. <br /> Resource Recovery Facility/Compost Facility: <br /> Forward, Inc.
