0 0
3:15 p.m., October 9, 1997
I received a call from Steve Mindt who stated he received a call from Mr. Witt who had
said he had contacted Mr. Ronyack and Mr. Ronyack stated that the stuff was ok and that
we should contact him.
I called Mr. Witt and he confirmed that Ronyack stated that the stuff was not asbestos and
I could call Ronyack and he gave me Mr. Ronyack's phone number(463-9906).
I called this Ronyack number and spoke to Bob Ronyack who stated that he knew that the
brake pads were not asbestos. I asked Mr. Ronyack how he knew they were not asbestos.
Ronyack replied that"someone"in the City of Stockton had sampling and that they were
going to grind it up to use in road base. I asked if he had seen or had copies of the
sampling. He stated that he did not and I informed him that I needed more than someone
just saying that it was not asbestos. I need the source and sampling results.
4:00 p.m., October 9, 1997
Mr. Ronyack called back and stated that the person who worked for the city was Fred
Patterson, but he did not know where he worked, but stated Mr. Patterson knew about it.
I asked him for sample results and again he stated he did not have them. Mr. Ronyack
during questioning agreed that he had a hazardous waste hauling permit. I informed him
that he should be aware that more than someone's word is needed to move waste which
may be hazardous waste.
I again asked Mr. Ronyack to identify the source of the brake pad waste. He stated that
he would find out and confirm that it was from one source and not many and may be on
Polk Lane. I told Mr. Ronyack that the waste was not to be moved until it had been
samples and confirmed that it was not asbestos waste, and that I would probably sample
it.
