Description of Project: Musco Olive proposes to expand wastewater reclamation disposal <br /> areas from 4.5 to 200 acres. Reclaimed production water will be used for irrigation of crops <br /> selected to uptake the discharged water. The typical existing flow is 200,000 gpd and is proposed <br /> to increase to 500,000 gpd as the olive processing factory expands. The quality of the irrigation <br /> water does not change appreciably from the quality envisaged under the original EIR or approved <br /> under the Waste Discharge Requirements (WDRs) Order No. 87-132 for the existing land <br /> application project. Mulching activities on-site will provide organic material that will be blended <br /> with the native soils to increase the holding and absorption capacity. Agricultural practices are <br /> proposed to be implemented that will prevent surface water runoff. The Regional Water Quality <br /> Control Board proposes to revise WDRs to reflect this project. <br /> 9.
