10 March 2009
AGE-NC Project No. 01-0839
• Utilizing wells MW-1 through MW-5,ground water flow direction was inferred to be north-
northwesterly with a hydraulic gradient of approximately 0.003 foot/foot (ft/ft). Figure 3
illustrates contoured ground water elevations as measured on 29 September 2009.
• Total petroleum hydrocarbons quantified as gasoline (TPH-g) were reported in the sample
collected from well MW-4 at a concentrations of 1,500 micrograms per liter(gg/l).
• The fuel additive methyl-tertiary butyl ether(MTBE)was reported in samples collected from
wells MW-3 and MW-4 at concentrations of 33 µg/1 and 1,500 µg/1, respectively.
• Fuel additive t-amyl methyl ether (TAME) was reported in the sample collected from the
well MW-4 at a concentration of 9.4 µg/1.
• Fuel additives t-butyl alcohol (TBA) and 1,2-dichloroethane (1,2-DCA) were not reported
at or above laboratory detection limits in the ground water samples analyzed.
Analytical results of water samples collected in September 2009 are summarized on Table 3.Graphs
depicting trends in depth to ground water measurements, ground water elevations and dissolved
1,2-DCA and MTBE concentrations in the monitoring well network are included in Appendix D.
The laboratory report (CTEL Lab Project.No. CT214-0910004), quality assurance/quality control
report, and chain-of-custody form are included in Appendix E.Electronic deliverable format(EDF)
files and depth to water data were uploaded to the State GeoTracker database;confirmation numbers
are 2252999842 and 8767045378.
4.0. INTERIM SOIL REMEDIATION SYSTEM INSTALLATION UPDATE
The following chronology documents the history of the interim soil remediation system planning,
development and installation using soil vapor extraction (SVE) at the site and is provided as a
historical reference to the progress at the site:
• 10 April 2006: SJCEHD directs submittal of an SVE pilot test work plan by 26 May 2006.
• 20 June 2006: AGE submits the Additional Site Assessment and SVE Pilot Test Work Plan.
• 14 July 2006: SJCEHD requests additional information concerning the AGE-prepared
Additional Site Assessment and SVE Pilot Test Work Plan by 11 August 2006.
• 07 August 2006:AGE submits the Additional Site Assessment and SVEPilot Test Work Plan
Addendum.
• 16 August 2006: SJCEHD approves the AGE-prepared Additional Site Assessment and SVE
Pilot Test Work Plan Addendum dated 07 August 2006 and requires all field work to
Advanced GeoEnvironmentai,Inc.
