ANALYTICAL RESULTS OF GRAB GROUND WATER SAMPLES
' One grab ground water sample was collected from boring CPT-1 at a depth of 88 feet bsg and two
' grab ground water samples were collected from boring CPT-2 at depths of 95 feet and 115 feet bsg.
No petroleum hydrocarbon constituents were detected at or above laboratory reporting limits.
' Analytical results for the CPT grab ground water samples are summarized in Table 1.The laboratory
report(CTEL Project No. CT214-0611174),quality assurance and quality control(QA/QC)reports,
and chain of custody forms are included in Appendix E.
5.3. ANALYTICAL RESULTS OF SOIL SAMPLES
' A total oftwenty-one soil samples collected from boring CPT-2 and from monitoring and vapor well
pilot soil borings MW5, VWI, VW3, and VW6.
1 MTBE was detected in soil samples VW1-35, VW145, and VWI-60 at concentrations of
0.042 milligrams per kilogram(mg/kg),0.21 mg/kg,and 0.39 mg/kg,respectively.Ethylbenzene was
' detected in soil sample VW6-50 at a concentration of 0.016 mg/kg.
No additional petroleum hydrocarbon constituents were detected at or above laboratory detection
' limits in the soil samples analyzed.Analytical results of the soil samples are summarized in Table 2.
The laboratory reports (CTEL Project Nos. CT214-011174, -0612137, and -0612151), QA/QC
' reports, and chain of custody forms are included in Appendix F.
6.0. SOIL VAPOR EXTRACTION PILOT TESTS
On 26 December 2006,an 8-hour pilot testwas conducted using shallow-screened vapor well VW-2,
' screened from 15 feet to 30 feet bsg, as the extraction well. On 27 December 2006, an abbreviated
pilot test was conducted using deep-screened vapor wells, screened from 45 feet to 60 feet bsg, as
the extraction wells.
6.1. SHALLOW WELL SVE PILOT TEST
' On 26 December 2006, an 8-hour SVE pilot test was conducted at the site using shallow-screened
vapor well VW-2, screened from 15 feet to 30 feet bsg, as the extraction well. The pilot test was
' performed to provide SVE data for the proper design of a soil remediation system. The test was
conducted using a Fuji regenerative 150 standard cubic feet/minute (scfm) blower powered by a
' Advanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc.
1
