' 014009 Environmental Management Inc 1 St Qtr 2005 Groundwater Monttonng Report <br /> 002-70950-04 <br /> U-Haul#709-50 <br /> . 4.0 CONCLUSIONS <br /> BIaes Environmental conducted the groundwater monitoring and sampling event for the First Quarter <br /> ' 2005 at U-Haul Facility #709-50 in Stockton, California on March 14, I5, and 16, 2005 Average <br /> groundwater levels recorded in March 2005 were approximately five feet higher than those recorded <br /> ' during the December 2004 monitoring event Groundwater was not encountered in the "A" horizon <br /> ' Based on the groundwater level measurements from U-Haul's middle "B casing" wells the groundwater <br /> surface map for March 2005 indicates a relatively flat gradient across the site with a flow direction to the <br /> northeast <br /> ' Analytical results of groundwater samples collected in March 2005 from both "B" and "C" casing wells <br /> indicated the presence of hydrocarbons in groundwater beneath the U-Haul Facility Comparison of <br /> ' analytical results from groundwater samples between U-Haul and the Former Harry's Auto Mart <br /> indicates two co-mingled plumes across the sites Analytical results of groundwater samples collected <br /> ' from the "B" casing wells revealed that the main portion of the U-Haul hydrocarbon plume is located <br /> around wells MW-2B, MW-3B, and MW-4B while the plume across the Former Harry's Auto site is <br /> ' centered around their well MW-1 Analytical results of groundwater samples collected from the "C" <br /> casing wells revealed higher hydrocarbon concentrations near wells U-Haul wells MW-2C, MW-4C, and <br /> MW-6C and Harry's Auto well MW-ID Based on the December 2004 analytical results, there appears <br /> to be limited communication between the `B" and "C" horizons The LNAPL such as TPH and BTEX, <br /> appears to be concentrated in the "B"horizon while the heavier DNAPL such as 1,2 DCA, has penetrated <br /> ' more extensively into the "C"horizon <br /> 1 ' <br /> 9 <br /> 1 <br />
