16 SIL
Environmental Technology, Inc
Del Mar's quality control program includes the following criteria
• Development of, and strict adherence to principles of good laboratory
practice.
• Consistent usage of standard operating procedures
• Establishment and adherence to carefully designed protocols for
specific measurement programs
• Use of reliable and well-maintained equipment
• Employment of appropriate calibrations and standards
' • Maintenance of all operations by management and senior personnel.
Del Mar's quality control program results in a measurement system with
' statistical control, with errors reduced to acceptable levels and characterized
statistically
7.0 HEALTH AND SAFETY PLAN
The Health and Safety Plan was prepared for SOTNs personnel and their
subcontractor in accordance with CFR 1910-120, to work in a hazardous
environment area The safety rules and requirements for drilling activities at
the U-Haul Center #709-50 facility, 2701 N Wilson Way Stockton, California,
' were strictly enforced at the time of drilling activities and water sampling
activities. The provisions in this plan apply to employees of SOTA and their
subcontractor. Employees of the U-Haul Center, Federal, State, and local
agencies should observe the safety rules and requirements established by their
respective organizations.
8.0 CONCLUSIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS
The purpose of the additional site assessment was to further delineate the
extent of petroleum hydrocarbons that have impacted the soils and
groundwater at the subject site, and to determine if potential off-site sources
contributed to the hydrocarbon plume on-site.
• The soil analytical results from the "off-site" monitoring well MW-7
indicated the presence of a light petroleum based solvent in the soil at 20
feet bgs (MW-7 at 20). It is our understanding that there is no historical
' record of solvents being used at the U-Haul Center site and, according to
the finger print analysis, the reported release was estimated to have
occurred between 4 and 12 years ago(i e , 1984 to 1992)
It is believed that "off-site" petroleum and/or solvent related plume is
contained "off-site" and is independent of U-Haul Center source The "off-
site" source is an isolated instance (Figures 5 and 6)
9
