The San <br /> Joaquin County Public Health Services in their letter dated May 19, 1992 <br /> concluded that groundwater at the site was contaminated, and that the extent <br /> of contamination had not been defined <br /> Applied Consultants (AC), San Diego, during May 1993 drilled and installed <br /> three additional monitoring wells (MW-4, MW-5, and MW-6) and two soil <br /> ' borings (B7 and 138) All six monitoring wells (MW-1 through MW-6) were <br /> purged and sampled for various petroleum constituents during May 1993 and <br /> results were reported to San Joaquin County Environmental Health Division <br /> iSince May 1993 and until September 1994 no activities took place at the <br /> referenced site. UHI has retained SOTA to continue with site assessment and <br /> ' remediation activities These activities include quarterly monitoring programs <br /> to evaluate the quality of groundwater, which has been reported to be impacted <br /> at the referenced site Since September 1994, Sol performed six consecutive <br /> quarterly groundwater sampling and analysis The last quarterly sampling <br /> event was conducted by SOTA in October 1995 and a quarterly report was <br /> submitted to San Joaquin County Environmental Health Division on December <br /> 15, 1995 <br /> /This report was prepared to document the additional site assessment activities <br /> which were performed in order to further delineate the lateral extent of <br /> groundwater impacted by petroleum hydrocarbons, both "on-site" and `off-site" <br /> SOTA's report is prepared per San Joaquin County, Environmental Health <br /> Division letter dated August 31, 1994 to UHI and in accordance with Tri- <br /> Regional Board Staff Recommendations for Preliminary Evaluation and <br />' Investigation of UST sites <br /> 3.1 Off-site Areas of Environmental Concern <br />' Potential off-site sources of soil and groundwater impact were investigated by <br /> Applied consultants in September 1993 (Applied Consultants, 9-2-93) Aerial <br /> photographs and the Polk Directory were also consulted by Applied Consultants <br /> for information on the subject site and adjacent properties The results of the <br /> limited phase I identified two possible sources that may have impacted the site <br />' • Harry's Auto Mart, 2662 North Wilson Way, is located approximately 100 <br /> feet east, up-gradient, of the subject site County, state and regional <br /> lists indicate that 2662 North Wilson Way is permitted for four <br /> underground storage tanks One or more of the tanks have leaked <br />' impacting both the soil and groundwater The site is to be remediated <br /> • The property located at 2214 Robindale Avenue, A C Roofing, <br /> Incorporated, is located approximately 500 feet east of the subject site <br /> A.0 Roofing, Incorporated is permitted to use at least one underground <br /> storage tank. The condition of the UST is unknown <br /> 2 <br />
