I 11-ad#709 '(O [11 1 11 <br /> ' 2.0 SITE BACKGROUND <br /> ' 2 1 SITE LOCATION AND DESCRIPTION <br /> The site is located at 2701 North Wilson Way on the northwest corner of the intersection of North <br /> Wilson Way and Sanguinetti Lane in Stockton, California The site is situated in a commercial area and <br /> ' is currently used as an equipment storage and rental facility Two single-story buildings occupy the site, <br /> which is owned and operated by AmercolU-Haul The buildings include a former service station <br /> building and a garage, which was added to the original building The site is generally flat with a slight <br /> grade to the southeast The site elevation is approximately 21 feet above mean sea level Site features <br /> ' are shown on Figure 2 <br /> ' 2 2 LOCAL HYDROGEOLOGY <br /> Based on groundwater monitoring data derived from previous environmental investigations conducted at <br /> ' the site, the depth to groundwater has ranged from approximately 45 feet to 90 feet below the ground <br /> surface (bgs) The average depth to water encountered at the site during the remedial feasibility <br /> ' investigation was approximately 57 feet bgs The groundwater gradient at the site is nearly flat and <br /> generally flows in an eastern to northeastern direction The nearest surface water body is the Calaveras <br /> ' River(diverting canal), located approximately 2,500 feet north of the site <br /> ' 2 3 GENERAL LITHOLOGY OF THE SITE <br /> On-site exploratory drilling has extended to approximately 126 feet bgs Field observations and drilling <br /> ' logs from previous investigations conducted at the site indicate local subsurface sediments consist <br /> predominantly of sandy silt (ML), silty sand (SM), and silty clay (CL) with occasional gravelly sand <br /> ' lenses <br /> 2 4 SUMMARY OF HYDROCARBON RELEASE <br /> ' Four underground storage tanks (USTs) and associated fuel dispensers were removed from the site in <br /> 1990 Three of the UST's included one 10,000-gallon tank, one 8,000-gallon tank, and one 6,000-gallon <br /> ' tank that formerly contained unleaded gasoline fuel The fourth UST was a 250-gallon waste-oil tank <br /> Laboratory analytical results of soil samples collected during the tank removal program indicated <br /> ' 2 <br />
