'• 11 March 2002
AGE-NC Project No. 95-0130
' Page 11 of 13
' mixture will consist of Type I/II portland neat cement and not more than 6 gallons of water per
94-pound sack of cement. The grout will be placed by pumping through tremmie pipe. A
grouting inspection will be scheduled with SJCEHD personnel.
4.3. WELL DEVELOPMENT
' Development of the proposed ground water extraction and monitoring wells will consist of a
combination of bailing to remove the major portion of fine-grained sediment from inside the
' well,surging to flush out or draw in sediment from the filter pack and additional ground water
evacuation(purging)to remove fine-grained sediment. Developmental purging activities will
be continued until field parameters (pH, electrical conductivity, and temperature) have
stabilized and purged water is visually sediment-free. Well development will occur no sooner
than 72-hours following well completion.
4.4. GROUND WATER AQUIFER PUMPING TEST
'• A 24-hour ground water aquifer pumping test will be conducted at the site utilizing a Grundfos
submersible pump to induce a decline in static water level in the newly installed ground water
extraction well. Pressure transducers will be deployed, at a minimum, in wells EW-1, VW-1,
' VW-2, VW-3, MW-1, MW-2, MW-3, MW-5 and MW-8 to measure change in ground water
levels before well pumping versus time during well pumping. A constant ground water
pumping rate (approximately 5 gallons per minute) will be utilized from the ground water
extraction well during the aquifer pump test to achieve optimum draw-down influence.Results
of the ground water aquifer pumping test will be included in a report of findings and submitted
to the SJCEHD.
' Grab water samples will be collected at 6-hour intervals an submitted to a DHS-certified
laboratory for the following constituents:
• TPH-g in accordance with EPA Method 8015 Modified/5030;
' 0 BTEX compounds and MTBE in accordance with EPA Method 8020;
• MTBE, TAME, DIPE, ETBE and TBA by EPA Method 8260 Modified;
' 1,2-DCA and EDB by EPA method 8260 Modified; and
• Total lead by EPA Method 7420.
Laboratory reports for soil analysis, testing methods, laboratory quality assurance/quality
• control (QA/QC) reports, and sample chain of custody documentation will be presented in a
Advanced GeoEnviroomental,Inc.
