Job Title : QC/Laboratory Manager <br /> Duties and Responsibilities <br /> • Responsible for managing , coordinating , planning , and organizing analytical activities for the <br /> laboratory quality control department . <br /> • Develop and continuously implement the quality control program within the department to <br /> ensure the laboratory is within regulatory and BQ - 9000 compliance . Responsibilities include <br /> maintaining records for quality testing data , training , instrument maintenance , proficiency <br /> program testing , quality control charts , sample retention , and document control . <br /> • Responsible for creating and updating Standard Operation Procedures for the department , <br /> including developing new analytical procedures to support the biodiesel production process . <br /> • Responsible for the validation of laboratory equipment and instrumentation , including <br /> implementation of maintenance schedule , calibration schedule , and verification that <br /> instrumentation is performing within typical statistical limits for the analytical system . <br /> • Responsible for coordinating work schedules , and supervising the activities of laboratory <br /> personnel , which include providing training , guidance and technical support when necessary . <br /> • Reviews and validates quality control testing data and test reports , including generating <br /> Certificates of Analysis for final biodiesel product . Responsible for evaluating all analytical <br /> testing and data to ensure test results generated were performed under the laboratory ' s quality <br /> control requirements and all regulatory requirements . Also responsible for ensuring that final <br /> biodiesel product test properties are tested within the required testing schedule . <br /> • Responsible for testing and generating reports for Third Party testing performed by the <br /> laboratory . <br /> • Responsible for maintaining current knowledge of ASTM and European quality testing <br /> standards that govern the biodiesel industry . Implement any updates and changes to those <br /> testing procedures , and provided the appropriate training to laboratory personnel . <br /> • Organize and perform R & D analytical research and testing in support of potential biodiesel <br /> production process changes or improvements . <br /> • Perform analytical biodiesel testing for quality control of the biodiesel production process to <br /> ensure that final biodiesel product meets or exceeds minimum ASTM or customer requirements . <br /> • Responsible for laboratory inventory and ordering of laboratory supplies . <br /> F <br /> ii <br />
