SANJ O A Q U I N Environmental Health Department <br /> COUNTY <br /> f. 24- hour hydrostatic test (or equivalent) on the 87 turbine sump , the E85 UDCs , and the <br /> E85 fill and turbine sumps . <br /> g . Verification of the dispenser footprints contained by the UDCs . Any potential leaks from <br /> piping and fuel filters must drain directly into UDCs . <br /> h . Visual inspection of piping within the dispensers . <br /> i . Verification of overfill prevention : Measurement of drop tubes to verify 95 % tank volume <br /> shut off and/or verification that external audible/visual alarm activates when tank is 90 % <br /> full . <br /> j . Leak detector test : Leak detector must be tested to confirm that the device can detect a <br /> leak of 3 gallons per hour at 10 psi . Leak detector monitored line volumes shall be <br /> appropriate for the make and model of the installed leak detectors , and shall be verified <br /> at the time of installation . <br /> k . Monitoring system functionality : Functionality of the monitoring system must be verified <br /> to ensure it meets the requirements of CCR Title 23 and HSC Chapter 6 . 7 . A copy of <br /> the alarm history shall be printed prior to performing the " cold start" of the Veeder Root <br /> system and made available at the time of EHD inspection . <br /> I . If concrete will be broken near the tanks , sumps , or UDCs , a secondary containment <br /> test must be performed on the affected components once concrete is poured in <br /> accordance with the manufacturer' s guidelines . <br /> Please be aware that the facility cannot operate the UST system or received fuel prior to the <br /> EHD inspection and approval. <br /> 4 . Secondary containment testing for the product piping is required six months after installation . <br /> Provide 48 hours notification to the EHD when this test is scheduled . <br /> 5 . Any individual performing the work of a service technician must meet the following <br /> qualifications : <br /> a . Possess or be employed by a person who possesses one of several permissible valid , <br /> current contractor' s licenses issued by the Contractors State License Board (may be <br /> issued to the installation company) , or a Tank Tester' s license issued to the individual by <br /> the State Water Board <br /> b . Possess or work under the direct and personal supervision of an individual physically <br /> present at the work site who possesses a valid , current California UST Service Technician <br /> certificate issued by the International Code Council ( ICC ) <br /> c . Possesses a valid , current certificate of training from the manufacturer(s ) of the <br /> component(s ) being tested , repaired , or serviced <br /> 6 . Individuals installing underground storage tank system components must possess or work under <br /> the direct and personal supervision of an individual physically present at the work site who <br /> possesses all of the following : <br /> a . A valid , current contractor' s license issued by the Contractors State License Board <br /> b . A valid , current UST Installation/ Retrofitting certificate issued by the International Code <br /> Council ( ICC ) <br /> c . A valid , current certificate of training from the manufacturer(s ) of the component (s) being <br /> installed <br /> 7 . The tank owner or operator shall log into the California Environmental Reporting System <br /> (CERS ) at http : //cers , calepa . ca , gov/ , update the tank and monitoring plan information , and <br /> ensure all UST information is current . <br /> 2 of 3 <br />
