Correspondence from your office, dated March 20, 1995,
stated that no further work was required at the site, and a
closure letter would be issued after destruction of the well . A
brief outline of the proposed work is given below; an application
for permit to destroy the well, with the required fee of $60 . 00,
is attached.
PROPOSED WORKPLAN:
1 . Mobilize V & W Drilling Co. auger rig equipped with 8” OD or
larger clean flights.
2. Remove Christy box, and drill up PVC casing, cement grout,
and sand pack. Ream the hole several times to insure that all
material has been removed.
3 . Using a flexible hose or tremie pipe, fill the hole with a
cement/bentonite slurry, making sure there are no voids or
bridges. After augers are removed, allow cement to set for 10-15
minutes . Add additional slurry if necessary to fill to ground
level .
4 . Removed materials can be disposed of on site.
Above work is to be performed under the supervision of, and as
directed by, a representative of the San Joaquin County PHS,
Environmental Health Division. That office will be given a
minimum of 48 hours notice prior to doing the work.
1
