PLATE X is a generalized site map of the property showing the locations of the spoil Piles , clean soil , and excavation After completion of the sampling operations , the preserved samples were transported to FGL Environmental under chain of custody by the geologist instructions were given to analyze the soil samples for BTEX, (Method 8020, ) & TPH-G, (Method 8015M, ) and the water sample for BTEX, (Method 602 , ) and TPH-G, (Method 8015M ) The results of the analysis of the soil samples from the excava- tion and the spot piles is summarized on TABLE III , which shows that all tested components were below reporting limits The results of the analysis of the water sample is listed on TABLE IV. which shows that all tested components were below reporting limits Copies of the laboratory worksheets and chain of custody are included as EXHIBIT H After receiving the results of the laboratory analyzes from the • site, and discussions with M Lagorio of the County EHD, it was agreed that no further excavation was necessary, and that the hole could be filled with clean material and returned to its original configuration On May 14 & 17 , 1993 , the site of the removed UST was filled with approximately 131 CY' s of 5/16 X 1/8 gravel , copies of the Back- fill Excavation Certificate and weightmaster tickets are attached as EXHIBIT I CONCLUSIONS Based upon visual evidence and the results of the laboratory analyzes , all contamination has been removed from the site, and no further work is necessary The composite water sample taken from the groundwater which had entered the excavation during the work was not contaminated by petroleum hydrocarbons, confirming that the water has not been impacted Therefore, the need for any additional investigative work does not appear warranted RECOMMENDATIONS Based upon the work covered by this report, it is our profes- sional opinion that no further assessment work is necessary on this property, and that site closure should be approved .
