PLATE X is a generalized site map of the property showing the <br /> locations of the spoil Piles , clean soil , and excavation <br /> After completion of the sampling operations , the preserved <br /> samples were transported to FGL Environmental under chain of <br /> custody by the geologist instructions were given to analyze the <br /> soil samples for BTEX, (Method 8020, ) & TPH-G, (Method 8015M, ) <br /> and the water sample for BTEX, (Method 602 , ) and TPH-G, (Method <br /> 8015M ) <br /> The results of the analysis of the soil samples from the excava- <br /> tion and the spot piles is summarized on TABLE III , which shows <br /> that all tested components were below reporting limits <br /> The results of the analysis of the water sample is listed on <br /> TABLE IV. which shows that all tested components were below <br /> reporting limits <br /> Copies of the laboratory worksheets and chain of custody are <br /> included as EXHIBIT H <br /> After receiving the results of the laboratory analyzes from the <br /> • site, and discussions with M Lagorio of the County EHD, it was <br /> agreed that no further excavation was necessary, and that the <br /> hole could be filled with clean material and returned to its <br /> original configuration <br /> On May 14 & 17 , 1993 , the site of the removed UST was filled with <br /> approximately 131 CY' s of 5/16 X 1/8 gravel , copies of the Back- <br /> fill Excavation Certificate and weightmaster tickets are attached <br /> as EXHIBIT I <br /> CONCLUSIONS <br /> Based upon visual evidence and the results of the laboratory <br /> analyzes , all contamination has been removed from the site, and <br /> no further work is necessary The composite water sample taken <br /> from the groundwater which had entered the excavation during the <br /> work was not contaminated by petroleum hydrocarbons, confirming <br /> that the water has not been impacted Therefore, the need for <br /> any additional investigative work does not appear warranted <br /> RECOMMENDATIONS <br /> Based upon the work covered by this report, it is our profes- <br /> sional opinion that no further assessment work is necessary on <br /> this property, and that site closure should be approved <br />.
