If the results are non-detect for these contaminants
using the detection limits and methods listed in Tri-Regional Board
Staff Recommendations Table 12 (enclosed) , the groundwater must be
sampled a second time to confirm the non--detect results. The
minimum time period between the collection of water samples is 30
days.
If contaminants are detected in the soil or groundwater further
sampling would be required. The amount would be based on the
levels of contamination and the information needed to further
evaluate the site for closure, the need for further groundwater
sampling and/or the need for further remediation.
If the information from the installation and sampling of the
monitoring well discussed above confirms there is no detectable
contamination, then the monitoring well can be destroyed and the
site will be given a closure letter with no further work required.
If you have any questions contact Margaret Lagorio, Senior REHS, at
(209) 468-3449 .
Ernest M.
