• <br /> remaining contamination that was present. The work was performed <br /> by Jim Thorpe Oil, (JTO, ) under the supervision of a registered <br /> geologist from WJH. Five (5) soil samples were taken from the <br /> sides of the excavation & three (3) from the removed spoil which <br /> was stored on site. A "grab" sample of groundwater which had <br /> entered the pit was also taken. Laboratory results of all <br /> samples were below detection limits for tested substances; refer <br /> to TABLE III for a summary of those results. The locations of <br /> those samples are shown on PLATE VI. <br /> 4 & 1 1993 - the excavation was filled with 131 cubic <br /> yards of 5/16 x 1/8 gravel & returned to its original profile. <br /> Copies of the weigh tickets have been provided with prior <br /> reports. <br /> JuIX 8 1993 - WJH prepared a report titled "PROBLEM ASSESSMENT <br /> REPORT AND FINAL REPORT OF SOIL INVESTIGATION" covering the above <br /> work A copy of that report, without attachments, is included as <br /> EXHIBIT B. <br /> August 30. Lau - The San Joaquin County EHD wrote to Riverside <br /> Cement concerning disposition of the removed spoil, & the need to <br /> conduct a groundwater investigation. A copy of that correspon- <br /> dence is included as EXHIBIT C. <br /> O tober 22_1993 - After profiling, sampling & testing the <br /> removed spoil, a total of 90 cubic yards was removed from the <br /> site & transported to Forward, Inc. for disposal. EXHIBIT D <br /> includes copies of the waste characterization form, laboratory <br /> results, and manifests of the material. <br /> JARuar 1 1924 - Meeting held at San Joaquin County EHD offices <br /> attended by Mr. Eugene Kulesza of Riverside Cement Co. , W. J. <br /> Hunter of Wm. J. Hunter & Assoc. , and Margaret Lagorio of the <br /> County EHD. to discuss reasons why site could not be closed, and <br /> what additional work would be required to accomplish that task. <br /> January- 21, 1994 - Mr. Kulesza of Riverside Cement Co. , wrote to <br /> County EBD requesting specific details of requirements for <br /> placing & testing a monitoring well in order to obtain closure of <br /> the site. A copy of that letter is included as EXHIBIT <br /> A ri1 4 1994 - The San Joaquin County EHD responded to the above <br /> letter, explaining the need for a monitoring well, and other <br /> details of the project.
