The 2" casing will extend a minimum of 12" above grade, &
will be equipped with an expandable plug_ The well is located in
a non-traffic area, and will not require a preformed vault &
traffic cover. Instead, it will be fitted with a section of
steel casing which will be thoroughly cemented at least 12" below
grade & extend a minimum of 24" above. The well casing will be
thoroughly grouted inside the larger casing, which will have a
hinged locking cover.
8 As soon as practical after completion, the well will be
developed by swabbing with a hard rubber disc or similar device
for at least 15 minutes or as directed by County EHD personel .
Removed fluids will be placed in properly labeled drums, securely
sealed, and stored on site pending the results of laboratory
analysis The County EHD office will be notified prior to
commencement of operations.
S. After the well has been developed & allowed to stabilize, the
static water level will be measured by a suitable electrical
interface device. A minimum of 3 casing volumes of water will be
purged from the well using equipment which has been thoroughly
decontaminated with alconox & deionized water. The removed
fluids will be placed in suitable containers, sealed, labeled &
stored on site pending future disposal . Resistivity, tempera-
ture, & pH will be measured and recorded during purging, which
will continue until well bore conditions stabilize
10 Water samples will be obtained by the use of a clean,
disposable teflon bailer or other suitable device, placed in
properly prepared glass vials, and transported under chain of
custody to FGL laboratory with instructions to test for BTEX,
(EPA 602, ) & TPH--G (EPA 8015M) using detection limits specified
by the San Joaquin County EHD & CRWQCB. The San Joaquin County
EHD Office will be notified prior to commencement of the work so
that staff personel can be present if necessary_
The above work will be under the direction & supervision of a RG
from WJH; County EHD personel will be given a minimum of 48 hours
notice prior to starting work to allow sufficient time for wit-
nessing drilling & grouting operations.
If laboratory results of soil & water samples are below detection
limits for all tested substances, another water sample will be
taken 30 days later using the same field procedures described in
. item 10 above. If that sample is also non-detect, a Final Report
6
