(IMG 7535-6) D.The following bagged waste items were found in an Acid HW tote(IMG 7552-3): 1.An open box of Garnier Color Sensation Permanent Hair Color, containing a container of developer and a container of colorant cream. "Acid"appeared to be written on the outside of the box. On the box's label, hydrogen peroxide was listed as an ingredient in the developer, and ammonium hydroxide was listed as an ingredient in the colorant cream.According to the DG Poster and Oxidizer HW Guidance, hydrogen peroxide is classified as an Oxidizer, and ammonia and hydroxides are classified as Alkaline, (IMG 7554-62) 2.A box containing DG Health Children's Cold&Allergy Antihistamine and Nasal Decongestant, which listed drug facts.According to the DG Poster and Toxic HW Guidance, medicines are classified as Toxic. (IMG 7563-4) 3.A container of Holloway House Quick Shine Multi-Surface Floor Cleaner. However,the scanner indicated the cleaner should have been placed in the Toxic HW tote. (IMG 7565-7). 4.A container of DG Home Lemon Ammonia. However, according to the DG Poster and Alkaline HW Guidance, ammonia is classified as Alkaline. (IMG 7568-71) The generator must ensure that all employees who handle hazardous waste are thoroughly familiar with proper waste handling and emergency procedures. Provide proof of re-training and training materials to the EHD for employees whose responsibilities Include hazardous waste. This is a Class 11 violation.
