i
June 7, 1988 AGS Job No. 038033-1
Marlowe Properties, Stockton, California
c
November and April of each year. Water-level data obtained from
i the San Joaquin County Flood Control District suggest that leakage
from the canal might create a local ground-water divide during the
spring.
Based on our previous experience in the area, ground water is
expected to be approximately 40 feet below grade. The direction
of ground-water flow is expected to be vaiAable, ranging from
south-southwest to south-southeast.
PROPOSED WORK
The proposed investigation is designed to evaluate the degree and
lateral extent of hydrocarbon contamination onsite. The following -
tasks are proposed:
o Excavate two soil borings at locations shown on the
Generalized Site Plan (Plate`P-2) . The first boring,
00 B--1, will be drilled to a depth at which at least two
consecutive soil samples show no field evidence of
hydrocarbon contamination with a field organic vapor
analyzer. If the observed contamination extends to
within 5 feet of the ground-water table the boring will
be extended 20 feet below the ground-water surface and
fo will be used for the installation of monitoring well MW-
1. The second soil boring B-2 will be drilled to a
depth sufficient to evaluate the vertical extent of
contamination
o....-_..------.Collect.--and_..classify-relatively undisturbed-soil--samples - --- --
to taken at 5-foot intervals in the'-soil borings.
5
t .
Applied Ge®Systems
