• 2.0 SCOPE OF WORK <br /> The objectives of the investigation were to further define the extent of impacted soil and <br />' groundwater, establish a groundwater monitoring capability at the site, and survey possible <br /> sensitive receptors in the site vicinity To achieve these objectives, three on-site groundwater <br /> monitoring wells were installed, and a survey of possible sensitive receptors within 2,000 feet of <br /> the site was completed <br />' 21 Planning and Permitting <br /> Prior to initiating fieldwork, a site-specific health and safety plan addendum was prepared <br /> according to 29 CFR 1910 120 The health and safety pian addendum included safety <br /> procedures for work to be performed, chemical hazard information, site safety officers, and a <br />' medical emergency location <br /> To perform the drilling scope of work, monitoring well permits (SR #0030313) were obtained from <br /> PHS/EHD Since all of the drilling was conducted on-site, neither off-site access agreements nor <br /> encroachment permits were required At least two working days prior to field work, Ramage <br /> Environmental notified PHS/EHD so that any inspections could be scheduled Underground <br /> Service Alert was also notified to complete utility clearance inspections (USA Ticket#300888) <br /> 22 Groundwater Monitoring Well Installations <br />' On July 13, 2002, under the supervision of Ramage Environmental, Mitchell Drilling (C-57 License <br /> #672617) installed three on-site groundwater monitoring wells (MW-1, MW-2 and MW-3) with a <br />' CME-75 drilling rig and 8-inch diameter hollow-stem augers Monitoring well MW-1 was located at <br /> the south end of the former UST in the vicinity of the previous Geoprobe soil boring B-2 Given <br /> that the regional groundwater flow direction was expected to be toward the north, the other two <br />' proposed monitoring wells (MW-2 and MW-3) were positioned northeast and northwest of the <br /> former UST The well to the northeast of the former UST (MW-3) was installed at the surface <br />' street grade level, and the two other proposed wells were installed at the sub-grade parking area <br /> level The monitoring well locations are shown on Figure 3 <br /> 1 <br /> 7 <br />
