1 <br /> STotal Petroleum Hydrocarbons (TPH)-as-gasoline, toluene, ethylbenzene, and xylenes were <br />' detected in the soil sample collected from beneath a disintegrating joint in the underground piping <br /> (P1), and all three soil samples collected from beneath the former UST Benzene was only <br />' detected in the soil sample collected at 13 feet from beneath the north end of the former UST, and <br /> methyl tertiary butyl ether (MTBE) was only detected in the sod sample collected at P1 The other <br /> soil sample collected along the former underground piping, and the soil sample collected from <br />' beneath the former dispenser did not contain detectable concentrations of gasoline hydrocarbons <br /> 1 2 2 Preliminary Investigation and Evaluation <br /> On April 16, 2001, Ramage Environmental published Preliminary Investigation and Evaluation <br /> Report, which documented the results of soil and groundwater-grab sampling from three on-site <br /> Geoprobe soil borings (B-1, B-2 and B-3) The boring locations are shown on Figure 2 <br />' Soils observed in the three borings consisted of a massive clay and silt sequence overlying a <br /> discontinuous silty fine sand interval of undetermined thickness During drilling, groundwater was <br />' first encountered at depths ranging from 14 2 to 15 0 feet below ground surface (bgs) <br /> Results of the investigation indicated that soil and groundwater beneath the site had been <br /> impacted by gasoline hydrocarbons The soil sample analytical results are summarized in Table <br /> 1, and the groundwater analytical results are included in Table 2 <br /> 1 <br /> i <br /> 1 <br /> I <br /> 1 i 6 <br /> 1 <br />
