(AGE) and has the following comments.
The Report documents an ozone injection pilot test that has been ongoing at this.site.
The test began in August 2004, though equipment problems had the system down for
approximately 8-10 weeks during the first six months of operation. The system has been
operating without problems since March 2005.
Routine quarterly groundwater monitoring and sampling has continued through out the
test period. The contaminant of concern at this sitel is methyl tertiary butyl ether(MtBE).
Analytical results from second quarter 2005 confirm the decreasing trend in the
concentrations of MtBE in the monitoring wells since the remediation began.
AGE recommends continued operation of the ozone sparging system. SJCIEHD agrees
with this recommendation; after four consecutive quarters of non-detect results for MtBE
in the groundwater the system should be shut down while groundwater analysis
continues on a quarterly basis to watch for potential rebound of the contaminant.
If you have any questions please call Lori Duncan at (209} 468-0337.
I
Donna Heran, REHS, Director
Environmental Health Department
Vt
Lori Duncan, Senior REHS Nuel C.
