' Monitoring Well Installation and Quarterly Report - First Quarter 2003 <br />' MANTECA CITY CORPORATION YARD <br /> 210 East Wetmore Street, Manteca, California <br />' 1.0. INTRODUCTION <br /> At the request of Mr Frederic Clark of the City of Manteca, Advanced GeoEnvironmental, Inc <br />' (AGE) has prepared this monitoring well installation and quarterly report for the property located <br /> at 210 E Wetmore Street,Manteca, California The site and the surrounding area are illustrated on <br />' Figure 1 Structures, boring and well locations are illustrated on Figure 2 <br />' 2.0. PROCEDURES <br /> Field work was performed in accordance with guidelines established by the Central Valley Regional <br />' Water Quality Control Board(CVRWQCB)for the investigation of underground storage tank(UST) <br /> sites <br />' 2 1 MONITORING WELL INSTALLATION, DEVELOPMENT AND SURVEY <br />'• Three groundwater monitoring wells(MW 8,MW9 and MW 10)were installed on 19 February 2003, <br /> developed on 24 February 2003 and surveyed on 22 Apnl 2003 <br />' 1 <br /> 2 1 1 Drilling and Sampling <br />' The three pilot borings for monitoring wells MW8, MW9 and MW10 were advanced using a <br /> CME-75HT drill ng, equipped with 8 25-inch diameter hollow-stem augers The drill ng and <br />' three-man crew were supplied by West Hazmat Drilling Auger returns generated by drilling were <br /> containerized in properly labeled Department of Transportation(DOT)-approved 55-gallon drums <br /> and stored on-site <br />' Soil samples were collected ahead of the drill bit using a California modified split-spoon sampler <br /> loaded with three pre-cleaned 2-inch by 6-inch brass sleeves The samples were collected at five-foot <br />' intervals, beginning at 5 feet below surface grade (bsg) using a 140-pound hammer to advance the <br /> sampler The number of blows required to advance the sampler over each 6--inch increment of the <br /> 18-inch sampling interval were recorded on the boring logs Sampling equipment was washed in an <br /> Alconox solution and double rinsed with water prior to each sampling run to minimize cross- <br /> contamination <br />' For each sample,both ends of the leading or other selected sleeve were covered with Teflon sheets, <br /> capped and sealed with tape The samples were properly labeled,stored on ice and transported under <br /> 1 <br /> Advanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc <br /> 1 <br />
