05 June 2003 <br /> AGE-NC Project No 99-0637 <br /> IPage 2 of 7 <br /> Ichain-of-custody to McCampbell Analytical Inc (MAI),a State of California Department of Health <br /> Services (DHS)-certified analytical laboratory <br /> I <br /> 212 Logging <br />' Soil was extruded from the remaining brass sleeves and was screened for the presence of organic <br /> vapor using an organic vapor meter(OVM)equipped with a photo-ionization detector(PID Thermo <br />' Environmental 580A, 10 0 eV,calibrated to isobutylene) The organic vapor readings were recorded <br /> on a boring log The soil was then visually described on the boring log in accordance with the <br /> Unified Soil Classification System (see Appendix A) <br /> I <br /> 2 13 Well Completions <br />' Pilot borings MWS, MW9 and MW 10 were completed as ground water monitoring wells using <br /> two-inch diameter PVC casing with 0 020-each slotted screen installed from approximately 8 feet <br /> t• to 28 feet bsg in borings MWS and MW 10 and from 7 feet to 27 feet bsg in boring MW9 with blank <br /> casing extended to the surface The filter pack(No 3 Lonestar sand)was installed from the bottom <br /> of each boring to approximately 6 feet bsg A nominal 3-foot bentonite chip plug was then installed <br />' above the filter pack and hydrated The wells were then grouted to near the surface with portland <br /> cement Water-tight, traffic-rated well boxes were then installed over the wells As-built well <br />' diagrams are depicted on the boring logs in Appendix A <br />' 2 1 4 Laboratory Analyses of Soil Samples <br /> Selected soil samples were analyzed for <br /> • Total petroleum hydrocarbons quantified as gasoline (TPH-g) and diesel (TPH-d) in <br /> accordance with EPA Method 8015M, <br />' Benzene,toluene, ethylbenzene and total xylenes (BTEX)in accordance with EPA Method <br /> 8260B, and <br />' • The fuel additives di-isopropyl ether (RIPE), ethyl tertiary-butyl ether (ETBE), methyl <br /> tertiary butyl ether (MTBE), tertiary-amyl methyl ether (TAME), tertiary butanol (TBA), <br /> 1,2-dichloroethane (1,2-DCA) and ethylene dibromide (EDB) in accordance with EPA <br />' Method 8260B <br /> I <br /> Advanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc <br />
