' PROCEDURES <br /> Three ground water monitoring wells (MW5,'MW6 and MW7).were installed and-developed and <br /> seven ground water monitoring wells M" W:1 through MW7) were monitored and sampled in. <br /> } January 2002.Field work was performed in accordance with guidelines issued by the Central'Valley <br /> Regional..Water Quality Control Board: (_CVRWQCB). <br /> 2.1: DRILLING AND SAMPLING <br /> E On 2$ January 2002, three soil borings were advanced at the site:The soil borings were:advance' d <br /> using a CME-75HT drill rig,, equipped with 8.25-inch diameter hollow-stem augers to.install <br /> monitoring wells MW5, MW6 and_MW7. The drill rig and three-man crew were .supplied by. <br /> Mitchell Drilling Environmental.Auger returns generated by drilling were containerized in properly , <br /> labeled DOT-approved model 17H 55-gallon drums and were stored on-site. <br /> Soil samples were collected ahead of the drill:bit using a California modified split-spoon sampler <br /> loaded with-three pre-cleaned-2-Inch by 6-inch brass sleeves. .The samples.-Were collected.from : . . <br /> monitoring well pilot borings MW 5;MW6 and MW7 at five-foot intervals,beginning at 5 feet below <br /> -surface grade (bsg) to total boring depth using a 1407pound'hanimer to advance the sampler. The <br /> 'number-of blows required to advance the'sampler over each 6-inch increment of the 18-inch <br /> sampling interval was recorded on the boring logs.;$ampling equipment was washed in an Alconox <br /> sohition and rinsed with water prior to each sampling riun-t4 minimize cross-contamination. <br /> For each salriple,both ends of the leadingor other selected-sleeve were covered with.Teflon sheets, <br /> , <br /> .capped and sealed with tape.The samples were labeled,stored on ice and trarisported-unde'r chain-of- <br /> custody to McCampbell Analytical;Inc:(MAI),a State of California Department of Health Services ; <br /> ' (DHS)-certified analytical laboratory.
