These are also tire <br /> dumps and are not stockpiled with any intention of <br /> reuse or recycling. <br /> Used Tire: A tire removed from a vehicles rim, but 0- <br /> which is structurally intact and has tread greater than <br /> 0- <br /> the <br /> the legal limit,and which can be remounted onto <br /> another vehicles rim without repair. <br /> Virgin Material: Raw material, such as crude oil or <br /> aggregate taken from a quarry, that has not been <br /> previously used in any manufacturing process. <br /> Volatile Organic Chemicals: A group of toxic <br /> chemicals that include but are not limited to: <br /> Benezene, toluene, and xylene. <br /> Vulcanization: The linking together, under heat and <br /> pressure, of rubber compound polymers which <br /> changes material from a sticky, putty-like substance <br /> to an elastic, bouncy substance. <br /> Vulcanized Rubber: Rubber which has been <br /> chemically reacted with sulfur and accelerators under <br /> suitable conditions to achieve modified physical <br /> properties over a wide range of temperatures. <br /> Waste Tire: A tire which is no longer capable of <br /> being used for its original purpose, but which has <br /> been disposed of in such a manner that it can not be <br /> used for another purpose. <br /> Whole Tire: A tire that has been removed from a <br /> vehicles rim, but which has not ben processed. <br /> Working Lines: 1" to 2'/2" hose lines. <br /> Yellow Fever: An acute infectious disease <br /> characterized by jaundice, fever, vomiting, <br /> hemorrhaging.
