F. Royster facility in Tracy, CA.
A large fire, fueled by piles of tires deposited at the site, burned out of control in 1997 until Sukut
Construction, Inc., was brought in by the State of California to extinguish it completely. The fire
left mounds of burn ash, and as it swept across the site, it burned various vehicles and pieces of
equipment used at the facility.
SCOPE OF WORK
In general types of work anticipated under this Agreement include, but are not limited to:
Site Cleanup
Removal and disposal of solid waste, as defined in Public Resources Code (PRC) section
40292, where recycling of the waste is not economically practical;
Recycling of materials that would otherwise become solid or hazardous waste and delivery
to suitable recycling facilities;
Removal or onsite remediation of debris resulting from the fire, which includes bead wires,
ash, partially burned tires, oil saturated soil, miscellaneous inert material and contaminated
soil.
Removal and disposal of both federal and state hazardous wastes;
Vegetation removal; and
Collection, removal, and disposal of contaminated water.
Site Gradinq and Construction Activities
Construction of earth embankments and placement of fill materials;
Construction of site ingress and egress routes; and
Installation of erosion control systems and establishment of vegetative covers;
Installation of fencing, barriers and signs;
Prepared: April 12, 2003
