OUR <br /> The soil samples were submitted to Severn Trent Laboratory, Inc. (STL), a State-certified <br /> laboratory, for chemical analysis. Each soil sample was analyzed for moisture content, pH, <br /> CAM-17 total metals concentrations analysis by EPA Method 6020 and 7471A, leaching <br /> concentrations of CAM-17 metals using the soluble threshold limit concentration (STLC), <br /> and leaching concentrations of Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA)-8 metals <br /> using the toxicity characteristic leaching procedure (TCLP). Attachment 1 provides a <br /> summary of the analytical methods, results, and screening criteria concentrations. <br /> CAM-17 Total Metals Results <br /> The total metals analytical result for lead in sample FF-0 (24,600 mg/kg) indicates the <br /> concentration in this sample exceeded the total threshold limit concentration (TTLC) <br /> screening criteria concentration for Class I non-RCRA hazardous Waste. The TTLC <br /> screening criteria was not exceeded for the remaining eight soil samples. <br /> STLC Results <br /> The STLC analytical results indicate concentrations in four soil samples (DD-0, EE-0, FF- <br /> 0, and FF-20) exceed the lead STLC screening criteria (5 mg/1) for Class I non-Resource <br /> Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) hazardous waste. The concentrations of each of <br /> the four samples are provided below: <br /> • Sample DD-0 contains lead at 19.3 mg/I <br /> • Sample EE-0 contains arsenic at 15.1 mg/1 and lead at 10.8 mg/1 <br /> • Sample FF-0 contains lead at 1,230 mg/1 <br /> • Sample FF-20 contains lead at 37.6 mg/l <br /> TCLP Results <br /> The TCLP analytical result indicates sample FF-0 has a lead concentration (168 mg/1) that <br /> exceeds the lead TCLP screening criteria (5 mg/1) for a Class I RCRA hazardous waste. <br /> The TCLP screening level concentration was not exceeded for the remaining eight soil <br /> samples. <br /> Summary <br /> Based on these results, a California-permitted Class I landfill facility should be contacted <br /> regarding acceptance of the soil in the vicinity of sample FF-0 for the treatment and <br /> disposal of the Class I RCRA hazardous waste. Additionally, a Class I landfill should be <br /> contacted regarding acceptance of the soil in the vicinity of samples DD-0, EE-0, FF-20 <br /> for disposal of the Class I non-RCRA hazardous waste. The remaining soil analytical <br /> results that did not exceed Class I hazardous waste criteria can be provided to a Class U/M <br /> landfill for their consideration. <br /> 2 <br />
