Laboratory Control Sample
There will be a mid-level calibration check standard analyzed on the GUMS
at the end of each day of analyses as a laboratory control sample (LCS).
The acceptance criteria for the calibration check standards will be ± 30%
difference from the expected concentration for the target compounds.
Internal Standards and Surrogates
An internal standard and surrogate will be co-injected with every sample.
Acceptance for the internal standard recovery will be —50% to 200%.
Acceptance criteria for the surrogate will be 70% to 130% recovery.
Respiratory Protective Equipment
Sukut will initially outfit heavy equipment operators with airline respirators equipped with
a 10-minute escape cylinder. The high-pressure cylinders supplying the air to the
operators will be fitted to the particular piece of equipment the operator is using [i.e.,
dozer and excavator]. Ground personnel will be utilizing self-contained breathing
apparatus [SCBA] to approximate the work area within the exclusion zone. All other site
personnel will be confined to the support zone, where no personal protective equipment
will be required. This plan is expected to continue throughout the entire work operations.
Weather Station
A Novel 110 WS14 Met Station will be utilized at the Tracy Tire Fire Suppression Project.
The unit provides sufficient data, which includes, wind direction, wind speed, barometric
pressure, relative humidity, and rainfall at intervals, which can be set from 1 minute tot
hour. In addition, this station has a solar panel per option. Field Portable Analyttion,
ical
fFPA] will assist in selecting the appropriate location for the meteorological sta
perform set-up and ensure its operation. FPA will train on-site personnel in the day-to-
day operations of the Met Station including data download. After the initial visit and set
up, FPA will continue to verify that the met station is in good working condition. In
addition, should there be problems with the station in between visits, FPA personnel will
be to get the station back on-line.
Documentation and Recordkeeping
A final report will be developed upon the completion of the project. This will include all
sampling data and subsequent laboratory analytical results obtained during remedial
operations at the Tracy Tire Fire Site. Additionally, meteorological data will also be
presented in the final report.
SP Environmental Services©November,2000
Air Monitoring Plan-DRAFT Page 7 of 7 Sukut Construction,Inc.
Tracy Tire Fire Suppression Project
