It is anticipated that removal of the
approximately top 2 feet of soil (Class I waste)will take approximately 8 weeks,
assuming 60 trucks per day of a five-day work week. It is anticipated approximately 8
more weeks will be needed to remove the Class II soil, although verification sampling
results will determine the scope and schedule of this effort.
7.2.4 Conservation Measures
This section is a summary of the conservation(control)measures that will be
incorporated into the RAP. The implementation of the following conservation measures
will serve to maintain minimal impact to the Site during and after remediation
activities.
Formatted:Bullets and Numbering
Air Quality
Conservation measures will be implemented to comply with the San Joaquin Valley
Unified Air Pollution Control District(SJVUAPCD)Regulation VIII Control Measures
for construction emissions of PM-10 contained in Table 8021-2 of the 2001
SJVUAPCD Rule 8021 "Construction, Demolition, Excavation, Extraction, and other
Earth Moving Activities" guidance(adopted November 15, 2001), as applicable. It was
agreed with the SJVAPCD that a formal Dust Control Plan would not be required(see
Response to Comment 5 in Appendix H).
The following control measures shall be observed during project activities:
• All disturbed areas, including storage piles, that are not being actively utilized for
construction purposes, shall have dust emissions effectively stabilized using water,
chemical stabilizer/suppressant, or vegetative ground cover.
• All on-site unpaved roads and off-site unpaved access roads shall have dust
emissions effectively stabilized using water or chemical stabilizer/suppressant.
Page 24 Final_RAP_Tracy_9.18.03(final).doc
