.`3sb <br /> 4.4 Recordkeeping and Program Review <br /> 4.4.1 Medical Records <br /> Proper recordkeeping is essential due to the nature of the work and risks involved. <br /> > Records enable subsequent medical care providers to be informed about workers' <br />' } previous and current exposures. <br /> 4.4.1.1 Procedures <br /> 11 Physician and employer will maintain and preserve medical records on <br /> exposed employees for at least 30years past employment. <br /> Note., Maintaining records for 30years enables employees who may be <br /> affected with a medical problem with a long latency period[time of first <br /> exposure to onset of illness], to still obtain records. <br /> 21 Employers will make available to their employees or their authorized <br /> representatives, the results of medical testing and full medical records <br />_.i and analyses upon written request. <br /> 31 Employers will maintain employee records of occupational injuries and <br /> ' illnesses and post ayearly summary report. <br /> } 4.4.1.2 Access to Medical Records <br /> i <br /> All employees have the right to obtain copies of their medical records from <br /> ' their employer. When an employee requests access to medical records, the <br /> employer must provide that record at no cost to the employee, no later than 15 <br /> days after the request was made. <br />` If the employer does not deliver the record after 15 working days, and does not <br /> file for an extension, the employee can contact the Chief, Division of <br /> > Occupational Safety and Health jDOSH] with the complaint.
