sb <br /> 7.0 Worker Protection Plan <br /> 7.1 General <br /> The Worker Protection Program details the type of protection that will be provided to workers <br /> within all work zones. Job descriptions and locations within the site will determine the specific <br /> type of protective clothing and equipment that may be utilized by personnel working in the <br /> area. Depending on the presence of hazards, workers entering the work zones will be required <br /> to wear approved equipment for protection against respiratory and/or dermal exposure. <br /> 7.2 Respiratory Protection Program <br /> When even one employee is required to don respiratory protective equipment, an employer <br /> must implement an appropriate compliance program. A written respiratory protection plan is <br /> required in accordance with the federal and state OSHA standards [29 CFR 1910.134 and Title <br /> 8, CCR, G.I.S.O. # 5144, respectively]. The following program elements are necessary for <br /> compliance with the standards, when a respiratory protection program is mandated. <br /> Respiratory Selection/Use <br /> Training and Instruction <br /> 4- Individual Assignment <br /> -1- Cleaning and Disinfection <br /> A- Medical Clearance <br /> Storage <br /> Use of Approved Equipment <br /> Inspection/Maintenance <br /> Recordkeeping and Documentation of Equipment <br /> 7.3 Selection and Use or PPE <br /> Respiratory protection will be required to perform work at the site in order to during all phases <br /> of fire remediation activities.
