sb <br /> The PPE waste will be loaded into the waste hauling trucks and transported to the proper <br /> disposal facility. <br /> 1] The Site Safety Officer will review the decontamination procedures with all personnel <br /> prior to them entering the exclusion zones. <br /> 2] All site personnel will be made aware of the importance of minimizing hazardous <br /> substance contact and of the necessity to enforce the appropriate practices and <br /> procedures throughout site operations. <br /> 31 When wearing PPE, all personnel leaving an exclusion zone will remove protective gear <br /> in the contamination reduction zone ]CRZ] at each break and before leaving the site. <br /> 41 The contamination reduction zone will be set up prior to any personnel or eQuipment <br /> entering areas where the potential for exposure to hazardous substances exists and will <br /> be used as the location for upgrading or downgrading levels of protection. <br /> 51 When and if used onsite, respirators, reusable protective clothing, and other personal <br /> articles not only must be decontaminated before being reused, but must also be <br /> sanitized. The manufacturers' instructions shall always be followed without exception. <br /> 61 Each person individually assigned to a respirator will be responsible for <br /> decontaminating their respirators_ These individuals shall be thoroughly trained in <br /> respirator maintenance. <br /> 71 If respirators become grossly contaminated, they may have to be discarded. The Site <br /> Safety Officer shall make this decision on a case by case basis. <br /> 8.5 Personal Hygiene <br /> I] All personnel will practice good personal hygiene before leaving the CRZ ]e.g. wash <br /> hands using potable water]. <br /> 21 No facial hair or non-retrofitted glasses used in conjunction with respiratory protective <br /> gear, is permitted. <br /> 31 All personnel shall wash their hands and face before and after eating, drinking, smoking <br /> and washroom use, to avoid hand to mouth contact and subseouent contamination. <br /> 41 All personal belongings which could allow contaminants to enter one's system <br /> including: rings, glasses, chains, watchbands etc. must be removed by individuals <br /> reQuired to wear PPE. <br /> Sb Environmental Services,LLC© October,2003 California Integrated Waste Management Board <br /> Site Specific Health and Safety Plan Page 50 of 62 Tracy Tire fire Remediation Project <br />
