Press "CONT" <br /> then use the ""P/DN" '_.ev to scroll to the next source, repeat this <br /> process until all sources read "E0" and press exit. <br /> 3 . Perform an Enerzr Calibration Checby placing the Lead probe cover <br /> over the probe and analyzing. During the "Enter Label." screen, <br /> label the Energy Calibration Check as "CHK-E" by picking the column <br /> that contains the letter "C" . The letter "C" will then be above a <br /> numbered key, press that key and continue the procedure for the <br /> letter "H" . The following steps provide information on how to check <br /> the calibration spectra and fill out the Daily Instrument Checkouf <br /> �ffizkshaac <br /> a. The k= must meet the criteria on the Daily Instrument <br /> Checkout Vorksheet to ensure the XRF is functioning r <br /> °/t <br /> correctly. Enter the "options" screen and select <br /> "Examine spectra" . Next select the Cd109 spectrum and <br /> examine the spectrum by using the arrows. Center the <br /> arrow on each peak. You can fineiv move the curser by <br /> selecting "COARS" and changing it to "FINE" . <br /> b. Closely look at the peaks by selecting "F.mag" and <br /> choosing a magnification multiplier. Make sure the <br /> peaks are within the ranges designated in the Energy <br /> Calibration Check Results. <br /> C. To check the next spectrum select "menu" then pick "Get <br /> a Spectrum" (buttcn #3) . Select the next source and <br /> complete the information on the Daily Energy Calibration <br /> Check portion. <br /> NOTE: in order to continue, remove the lead probe cover and replace it <br /> with the lead cup cover over the probe. <br /> 4. Perform a Resolution Checby placing the "FE" element-within the <br /> probes circular window. Try to make sure the "FE" element is dead <br /> center before analyzing. Label the analysis as "CHK-R" . After <br /> shooting the "FF" element select "Examine Spectra" from the <br /> "options" '"screen ana view the Cd109 spectrum (steps 3a-3c) . Fill <br /> out the information requested in the Resolution Check section. <br /> ki&MsCLQ,, v'.0.,V 0M <br /> - Intensity Check: Select "See raw data" (button #5) , <br /> press Cd109 and pick "Intensities" (button #6) . Scroll <br /> down to Mn, Fe, Co and make sure they meet the criteria <br /> for the Resolution Check. <br /> Note: Re-center the "FE" element and re-analyze if the resolution <br /> criteria are not met. <br /> 2 <br />
