- FRO-1 COTULLA%LING FAX NO 2109 369 I OCT 06 1998 13 39 P 3
the conference call to advise her on what is being done. She said she would forward the
names of all her neighbors who are upset but I told her not to do this at the current time.
1 also attempted to return a message to Delano Miranda, phone: 925-543-8202, but could
not reach her. She stated in her message she was also contacting the State so I thought
that perhaps she was able to reach Jim. I also tried to return a call from Bob Brown of the
Tracy Press who was asking about the possible effects of the rain. I left a message for
him to call JIM.
During the past week,I also had several conversations with Evan Shipp at SJVAPCD. He
said that the weather Is changing and there will be more smoke close to the ground and
the winds will be "meandering." There will be an overall worsening of air quality In the
area due to normal winter patterns. The Ure fire will add to that load.
In general, I feel the residents are frustrated by the continued smoke and smell even If It
is technically not a health threat. They are upset. It would be helpful if either someone
called these people back with answers to their questions about why the fire was not put
out and what it going to happen now, or some type of official progress report or update
was provided with answers to these questions.
1 would appreciate consideration of these Issues.
October 6, 1996
Tracy Tire Fire.doc
