This program is designed
to educate residents throughout the Valley about the harmful effects of wood smoke,
and give the public a chance to help reduce air pollution.
In spite of its wan-n appeal, using a fireplace emit smoke which contains toxic gases
and small particles. These pollutants pose a significant health hazard. When inhaled,
they can cause coughing, lung avid throat irritation, as well as contribute to lung
ciis;.ase.
