PCBs are industrial chemicals nov
banned in the U.S. because of widespread environmental damage.
Dioxins and furans are unwanted byproducts of many industrial
operations including incineration, tire burning, combustion of
coal and oil, manufacture of paper and some pesticides, and met
smelting. Dioxins and furans are created when chlorine combine
with other chemicals at high temperatures.
http://www.monitor.net/rachel/r390.html 8/13/98
