BEFORE THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF THE COUNTY OF SAN JOAQUIN STATE OF CALIFORNIA R-98- 14 RESOLUTION CONFnNUNG EXISTENCE OF A LOCAL HEALTH EMERGENCY WHEREAS, the California Health and Safety Code Sections 101040, 101080 and 101085, and the California Government Code Section 8630, empowers the local Health Officer to declare a local health emergency to protect and preserve the public health when said county is affected or likely to be affected by a public calamity and the Board of Supervisors is not in session, subject to ratification by the Board of Supervisors within seven days; and WHEREAS, conditions of extreme peril to the health of persons have arisen within said county, caused by the tire fire currently burning in Tracy, commencing on or about 4:29 p.m. on the 7th day of August, 1998, at which time the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Joaquin was not in session; and WHEREAS, said Board of Supervisors does hereby find that the aforesaid conditions of extreme peril did warrant and necessitate the proclamation of the existence of a local health emergency; and WHEREAS, the Health Officer of the County of San Joaquin did proclaim the existence of a local health emergency within said county on the 7th day of August, 1998; NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY PROCLADvIED AND ORDERED that said local health emergency shall be deemed to continue to exist until its termination is proclaimed by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Joaquin, State of California.
