It is
our desire to have San Joaquin County relist Pepsi-Cola San
Joaquin Bottling Company as a responsible party based on the
additional corporate ownership information that we have
obtained. The following is a description, including
documentation of the transformation of Pepsi-Cola Bottling
Company of Stockton ("Pepsi-Stockton") into Pepsi-Cola San
Joaquin Bottling Company ( "Pepsi-San Joaquin") .
In Pepsi-Stockton' s infancy, Echo Distributing Company
was merged into Pepsi-Stockton in December 1970 and the
resulting name of the corporation was Pepsi-Cola Bottling
Company of Stockton, Inc. In 1977, Pepsi-Stockton purchased
the subject property from H. A. Knowles.
Pepsi-Stockton was then merged into LGT Bottling Company
("LGT") , a Delaware corporation, on October 1 , 1980 . LGT is
no longer certified to do business in the State of
California. A record search of the Delaware Secretary of
State records indicates that LGT is no longer in existence.
On September 19 , 1980 , LGT was merged into Liggett Bottling
Company, a Delaware corporation.
In December 1982 , Liggett Bottling Company filed a
Certificate of Amendment changing its corporate title to
Pepsi-Cola San Joaquin Bottling Company. In December 1985 ,
Pepsi-Stockton through a 1031 tax exchange using Union Bank,
transferred the property to Roek Brothers.
W b1
